There are only two reasons why you should request an account on this web site: 1) You would like to be able to add comments without waiting for administrator approval, or 2) You want to participate in our Discussion Forums (there's not much there yet). There is no direct relationship between an account on this web site and your attendance at any of our classes. There may be more site features and advantages to registering in the future.
You can speed up the account verification process by signing up with your full real name, especially if you're an existing BYD client.
It's OK to sign up with a fake name but there will be an extra step required to have your account authenticated if I don't know who you are.
