The Bikram Challenge
The BYD Challenge program is currently active. You may sign up at the front desk any time before May 1, 2012.
The Bikram Challenge is a way to take your practice to a new level and it’s simple to undertake. If you’re new to Bikram Yoga, this is an opportunity to discover amazing things about yourself and your abilities. You will be physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually transformed. If you’ve already got a regular practice, then the Challenge will be an opportunity to take it to a profoundly deeper level. There are two challenge levels:
- 30 Classes in 30 Days – Open to everyone.
- 5 Classes per week for 4 weeks – Open to anyone who currently practices less than 3 times per week.
How It Works
- Sign up at the front desk. You must declare which challenge you are aiming for.
- You may make up for a missed day by taking two classes on another day (doubles) but you may only do 2 doubles throughout your challenge. (It’s best not to miss any days.)
- Triples (3 classes in a single day) are not allowed.
- If you travel during your challenge you may take up to 3 classes at any other Bikram affiliated studio (proof required). You may not count classes at other studios in the Atlanta area.
- No special class card is required — you may use any of our regular class cards while on your challenge. The Monthly Unlimited makes the most sense but you may also use an existing, active class card.
- Complete the 30 day challenge and you will receive a $30 studio credit which may be applied towards any class or product purchase.
- Complete 5 classes per week for 4 weeks and you will receive a $15 studio credit which may be applied towards any class or product purchase.
Tips
- It’s helpful to sign up with a friend for support and encouragement.
- Don’t make any drastic lifestyle changes such as dieting or fasting during your challenge.
- Take it easy! The benefits from a challenge come from the consistency of practice more than how hard you push yourself.
- After the first week or two you may experience interruptions in sleep cycles, food cravings, energy bursts, feelings of lethargy or a number of other changes in your body and mind. Don’t be alarmed. Things should eventually even out.
- Not everybody is able to complete a challenge. It’s why we call it a challenge. Please always put safety first. If you become ill or injured, or if you have unexpected schedule changes at work or home, please do not feel bad about stopping. You may always try again at a later date.
